COURSE DETAILS:

This TAE Upgrade program is a critical step for existing trainers and assessors. Trainers and assessors who possess the older TAE40110 qualification will have until 1 April 2019 to meet the new credential requirements. In July 2017, Skills Ministers agreed to update the training and assessment credential requirements in line with the changes to the TAE Training Package, to ensure the VET workforce has appropriate skills in designing and developing assessment tools and identifying and evaluating LLN requirements. The course is focused on assessment design and validation practices.

The course includes gap training and assessment of the required four units:

  • TAEASS401 Plan assessment activities and processes
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • BSBCMM401 Make a presentation

We understand that participants attending this course come with prior knowledge. With that in mind, we have developed the course to be hands-on and engaging, whilst learning through assessment. The key areas covered by this course include recapping on:

  • Instructional design concepts and applying the ADDIE model
  • Developing assessment tools against the principals of assessment and rules of evidence
  • Completing an assessment plan
  • Undertaking a trial of assessment
  • Participating in and coordinating validation activities

Course Duration/Schedule

This course is a blended mode of a two day face-to-face workshop with a pre-course online learning component:

  • Online learning (prior to workshop attendance): Up to four hours
  • Face-to-face workshop: Two days (8 hours per day)
